          cheers fellas

the aim is to have fun on this build by making parts rather than buying where possible, and hopefully end up with something that resembles an M as i can't afford a real one...

bought myself a second hand vice for Xmas to start of the build... sorry photos all taken via phone for convenience so photos not very good quality.

great work you might be able to get an apprenticeship with BA if you keep producing the goods, full custom nothing like doing it yourself maybe a jz headlight bucket to hightlight the custom forks

they look like ark welds? nice job,not easy with a 240 volt welder

me old man had some lying around that were very close to the original size.
left is off an A fork and right is what i'm using (red set), i think it measured 26.5mm diameter from memory and Ms are 27mm?. wall thickness much thicker than stock A forks. The galv set is standard 26mm water pipe which is thinner.

                              20130108_225706.jpg

it was a struggle to flatten the thick ends of the red tube where the axle goes and i ended up bending the vice arm (1m lever) quite a few times to compress it, really needs a press. The galvanised set was thinner so i added a second tube inside to strengthen it.

kids play compare to BA's work, sorry to butcher your A forks but they were perfect for the job. yeah jz headlight means longer ears, looks abit weird, need to work on this one... :-)

haha yeah, 2mins jig did the job. are ark welds, bugger to work with! even harder as i don't have time to go buy the right size rods, what you see are the better ones... there are plenty of shocking welds.
