Might give it a go Dex, but the last thing i tried to un-anodise didnt work out very well.

Scuff it with some wet n dry before mr muscle oven cleaner ,,,
Anodizing will " melt off "
If left long , the aluminium will " blacken " , as the cleaner will attack the soft aluminium .its engine oil madge ,,,
