I'm a bit of fan of the HK,T,G models myself and a Monaro in any of these would be bloody awesome!

A mate of mine had a look at this HK Prem a few years ago when it was for sale locally. Spotto the HQ LS Monaro in the shed!

even my old man who had no idea about cars once owned the following spec torrie:

    LH model.
    4 door sedan.
    Bright Orange colour.
    Brown Vinyl interior.
    1900cc Opel engine.

m/uncle - sorry man there still overrated + VERY overpriced cars.
brockie + bondy made those cars what they are today......
the torries were built to beat the HOs at Bathurst only.

"going ford is the going thing"

the police made these cars what they are today.
not Moffatt, Gibson + The Geohgan Bros.
1967 XR GT was built for Vic Police Dept well before
    1967 Bathurst race.

jeepers - g man opened up a new can of worms.
need ford men like dex to bail me out.

buy another ford then - between mick, big g + yourself you guys got all the nice cars
    in Tassie covered.

gotta look outside the box now - watch the cortinas + esky models going north now....
I also been watching the TE corty with the 250 x flow - still fairly affordable to the paupers.

very hard to find any collectable cars in aust for under 5 grand....
should start a thread on it - stay tuned....

That red HQ LS was up at my place on Thursday with a Hunter Safari. Said he had a HK Prem too.
Was up north on a vintage car club run, must have struggled getting up my drive, apparently loved my 350 HQ Stato.
I was at work and just got photos of it sent through by the old man.

Man I love the LS Monaros! I can imagine the doctors and lawyers back in the day cruising around the towns in them.

In all seriousness though, for all you mainlanders on the forum, the above post shows perfectly just how small a place Tassie is!

Hence why most of the good ‘barn finds’ be it cars or bikes are long gone, because everyone knows someone who has something good.

Spotted this beast parked outside a local workshop yesterday. Apparently its been sitting out the back for years as old mate couldn't decide if he wanted to sell it or restore it. Its a genuine Sandman too!

Man that's a sweet Monaro! I was doing a cashie for a local bloke about 3 years ago and asked what type of car he had under the blankets/boxes etc. It was a HG Monaro genuine 350 in a similar colour to yours with gold stripes and factory black vinyl roof. Its undergoing a full restoration as we speak.

    Great thread revival!

I found a Torana that looks almost identical to yours about 12 months ago sitting in a shed but its an LH. Typical story, elderly gent owner that hasn't driven the car in years. He decided to get it going again and left it to idle in the shed while it was warming up however the oil pump had lost prime and it seized in the same spot it had been sitting for 5 years previous. Oh, did I mention its a factory 253 with air and t-bar automatic.

I would post up some pics but haven't tried since 'photobucket gate'...

My first Torana in 1982 was an LH 4-door 253 4 speed SLR look-alike, I spent close to $100,000 on that car over the 20+ years I owned it and have only 1 picture of it that I cannot find.

Here is what it looked like except for the LX headlights:
