    Z50 - Blue Slip NSW

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on requirements in NSW for rego.
I have a Z50 bike with 1980 comp plate, but need to replace most items, inc engine.
Can I drop a Lifan 140 in and pass a blue slip inspection ??

Hi Dav377, you will need to check local laws in your state, you may need an engineers certificate.

some people run the risk and put a bigger motor in after inspection, but by no means does it make it legal.

there has been heap of talk on the forum lately of bigger motors and rego so you can also use the search function

it might also be worth you going over to the introductions page and saying hi and posting a pic of your bike.

1 mirror is fairly common for the age but the no blinkers is interesting

i just called RMS tech line to ask what i need for rego on a 72 model bike, rang 3 time, got the same answer each time, hi/lo/park, brake/tail/plate, 1 mirror, horn....

inspector told me i need blinkers and 2 mirrors, i just told him it meets all year of manufacture spec's for rego and he passed it....

and I was told he was tough on blue slips.....

Wouldn't regoing a ge leave u open to all sorts of drammas eg accident or theft they would just turn u away saying it shouldn't be on the road.

    If it's just a 70cc it'll be fine. You're allowed a percentage over std.

Most insurers rely on roadworthy departments (in the state) as proof it is roadworthy and should be on the road, so if it passes RWC you shouldnt have issues.
