    Mexican yellow k2

Win this little k2 on eBay, as it wasn't too far from home.

Missing a few bits but hopefully it won't be too hard to find the last few bits

    Nice duct tape boots!
Do you reckon the black speedo cable is original? Mine was silver and it took me a long time to find a new silver one.

I don't know, no reason for it to not be.

It's been on one farm for its whole life

Oh that’s pretty cool. ‘One owner’.

I think it’d be best to stick a Lifan in it, and maybe some KDF forks and bits and bobs, then try sell it on eBay for 4500. It must be worth that at least! Maybe more?

Seriously though, a little bit of grease and polish and that will come up nice. Looks really straight and complete.

Good score Matty, love those fork boots.

All in all a fairly tidy bike for 50 year old farm bike! Most of the good stuff is there.

The story goes, a farmer had it on his tractor and would ride it home for lunch so he wouldn't have to drive the tractor all the way back.

    It seems quite well maintained

An enormous thanks to Babu for kindly sending me this tail light.

It has already made a great difference to the look of the bike.

Don't know why but "survivor" hardtails have more appeal to me than a perfectly restored hardtail, must be something wrong with me. Looks good Matty

I agree, if you can save it with original paint then definitely do that.

Otherwise give them another 50 years with some restoration

Had this bench from a shop fit out. Only had 2 legs so I cut them in half and made a nice little work bench. Might decide to put some ply or MDF on top to make it a little stronger.

Also cleaned out a huge amount of grass and mud from the counter shaft sprocket. Goes heaps better now.

Taught the gf how to ride this today and had to pry it from her afterwards. 50cc is where it's at.

I put some indicators on which are genuine Honda but I'm going to slowly search for some aged ones.

Keep the pics coming, love unrestored bikes, finish it off and send it over here where its GE cuz is waiting...

I have been tempted to straighten things up like the rear bracket, fender, headlight, pump up tires etc.. but they add so much more character bent, flat and all..., i find i stare at it way longer and enjoy it more than my straight clean bikes...

    IMG_0368_zpsdde09d15.jpg

Btw, i may have a light fitting or 2 from my 'bad intention' hardtail but have to check...

With you 110% here Babu, nothing like an unrestored survivor bike with all the character intact. I reckon more challenging than a complete restore to get part that look the right age (like the indicators you mentioned Matty).

It's gotta run and everything has to work though - no pressure

Making a start on fixing the wiring. I thought it was going to be messed up but actually it's not too bad. Will need a new plug for the battery. Also it has the original tool kit under the seat. This bike keeps getting better.
