Have all the Monkeys gone into hibernation for the Summer?

Board has been a bit slower than usual.

I havent been riding too much - I find it hard to muster up the courage to don the full kit with 30c+ and 85%+ humidity being the norm here, I am committed though to riding a lot more once it cools of.

Also aiming to "deChina" the J1 a bit more. As much as I'd like to do the motor first - budget is looking slim as wife is studying full time. ShiftUp rear rack has arrived, guards and indicators will probably be next. I'll resurrect my old thread as I do it!

I’m trying to save for a newer model Z50 at the moment. I’ve been monkeyless for just over two years now. So even your partially china model is better than what I’ve got!

My rider is a Tonelli, so TOTALLY China - but that will be moved on soon enough.

You have two parts of brain, 'left' and 'right'. In the left side, there's nothing right. In the right side, there's nothing left.

Good riding weather. Not only did it snow in January in the last two days there's been 100km/h winds and storms.... I just want to ride to work in peace before summer is over

its funny to think of things as quiet.

For me - its basically anything bit.

A year ago - the addiction started here:

A year later; and this is where Ive ended up:

So - I'm saying - quiet is a state of mind. And there's plenty more to do.

No. from a private sale. It was very original and with import papers. i got it registered, and have tried to make some subtle changes to make it rideable around town - pretty happy so far.

    Thanks Mate.

I'm no fabricator - some of the builds I see on here are way beyond what I can do.

Happy to do engine work and the take it apart put it back together stuff, or maybe figure out a different way to use stuff or stare at stuff till I figure out how it works.

I'm also pretty good at finding mechanical limits....

But it's the bikes that have custom parts or fabrication done by the owners that you see on this site that I find amazing - I'd like to be able to produce that kind of stuff.

    Monkey Projects Over Summer

Here are 4 of the bike builds that I am chipping away at slowly:

    DSC01942.jpg

    From the right:

    - CRZ150 just needs the new tyres put on the rims and the electrics sorted.

    - A 1988 Z50R replica based on a Fast 50s frame and Fast 50s +1" swingarm with Gazi gas shocks, needs the stock Z50R front end installed with Fast 50s +1" fork-legs, heavy duty springs and delrin bush set.

    - The Red and White tank bikes in the background are both 1983 Z50R's with cracker tags that I have had put away for a few decades, both bikes will have the TB Parts/KLX110 fork legs, +8cm AC swingarm with 330mm Gazi and Yoshi gas shocks, Monkey seat as on the white bike, 83R bottom end with heavy duty auto clutch and new bearings with a TB Parts 88cc V2 roller rocker race head and a tuned exhaust system running the stock points ignition. Both bikes will be painted Mandarin Red and will be the bikes that we take out when the soccer team members come out for a ride, the bikes will have repro tanks and plastics so it don't matter too much if they have a little too much fun out the bush on them.

    - After 20 years apart my JZ is back on it's wheels and is nearly alive again

    Cheers
