My Rock-Hopper back in 1976 was $149.00 new and a YZ80D in 1977 cost the parents $799.00 new.

I had a Yamaha GTMX80 before the YZ80D, it was such an improvement over my old bikes especially my Deltek Grand Prix that only had a half working rear brake, traded in the YZ80D on a new 1981 XR80, it was so much better on a 4 stroke not having to carry a satchel of Castrol Super TT oil in your pocket.

i had a used yz80B that was an absolute rocket......not, only hit band in the mud!
