Can't do it , only people allowed to reissue is Honda them selves. Otherwise it's fraud..

    Reproduction Compliance Plates on EBay

Called the Roads and Maritime Services in regard to a compliance plate query and was put through to the Technical Information Hotline (spoke to Colin).

Told him that I was restoring my bike and that I wanted to replace the damaged compliance plate with a repro plate available on EBay that was just like the original, he said "The issue with fiddling with the plates is that it makes it hard to prove that the bike is now still the same bike, the compliance plate should not be removed".

Then asked that if the plate was missing could I replace it with a copy, he said "No that would be an act of fraud but if your bikes numbers are already on the RMS system it does not matter if the compliance plate is missing, it's only needed to establish registration".

I then said that I wanted my bike to look 100% complete with a new plate, I thought it may be ok if I carried the old compliance plate with me when I was riding after fitting the new plate, he said "No".

    Cheers

so if the rms says to not even touch the plate one should just protect it during sand blasting and cover for repainting, or would it be fune to remove the old rivets and re fix on after paint?
