  • Can i get sa rego on my 1971 Z50?

    Hi im planing to get my 1971 z50 on the road with S.A rego is this possible? And if so would it get through with a 140cc lifan motor? Any information appreciated

          Looks as tho someone has shaved off the orig tank pegs off ,,
          As well as the tail light bracket ..

          Few subtle differences from oz model aeu-k2 and ge
          Tail light bracket on frame ,,oz one is a flap with two holes ,,ge is a vertical tang with a horizontal flap " higher "
          Oz mod has holes with nuts on the rear of the engine cradle mount ,, they are for battery box to bolt instu .
          Ge runs different electrical system ,, so orig horn is different ,, bars utilize a large horn button on the right side bar .
          Yours has a jz style front end ,so could disregard the last bit

          Have you checked frame no's ,?

            The frame number is Z50A-393526 if that helps?
            The previous owner had cut off the back light bracket on the frame. And it also has a Z50J front end witch i made to fit as the original forks were worn out and rusted. I also have cut the back end were the seat would sit and were the light bracket would bolt on to of the Z50J frame (as z50j frame was cracked and bent) and welded it onto my frame now witch has made it about 150mm longer as seen in pic.

                And going by frame no' ,,,

                  Thank you heeps mate for information as i never new that about the models.

                  Do u if its an esay/hard process to get rego with a 140cc lifan motor?
                  And is there anything complications that i need to know?

                    A grey area on the forum ,
                    Best to pm members from s.a to be " forwarded " towards monkey friendly inspectors , that have had previous experience .

                    But all in all , no leaks , all lights work as should , etc etc

                      Cheers mate great info!
                      Think i might go with the Tboltusa pister pro 155Z H-O engine over the lifan 140cc. The 155Z H-O engine is much more aggressive and going by the youtube clips it will be an animal to ride thats my sort of bike!
