  • Carby Problem

    Hi
    I have a k2.
I put petrol in the tank today and it started coming out of the carby all over the place.
I rode it around for a little while and it stopped.
Any ideas as to what may be wrong? Help appreciated.
    Thanks

Just pop the carby off, Un-clip the bowl and give it a good clean out.
Probably crud jamming up the needle and seat.
To get the float off just knock the little pin out one side and pull it out with pliers.
Then just blast it all with a can of degreaser.
Before reassembly make sure the needle moves freely in the seat.

When its fixed you could put some injector cleaner in fuel, it helps with the crud that RR mentioned. If it's bad then an inline filter might help.
Once I thought I was wrong, I was mistaken

Check that it's still got a needle sitting on top of the little arm coming off the float and that the pointy end is facing into the hole.

If it has come good again I wouldn't worry about it. Probably just needed to moisten up the seals a bit.

So I have taken my Keihin carby off the Z50A, sprayed everywhere with carby cleaner, reassembled and reinstalled. Filled with fuel and it is pouring out of the bottom of the carby. Same deal? Float? Time to strip it again. I really should get some carby training.

                              False alarm....I think.
Resealed drain screw and seems to be ok. I think.
