  • To run a K2 without battery/rectifier, which wires need bridging please?

Wanting to try and fire up the k2 to give my 4yo a ride round the yard before I sell it, have a bunch of wires but no battery, is there a basic way to hotwire it to get it to run without a battery or does it need one? Iíve had other Hondaís that wonít generate a spark without a battery

Run a single wire from the Black/White wire coming from the stator through a stop switch to the ignition coil and then to earth.

    Similar to a Z50R set-up:

I have a black wire already from the stator to the coil and branching off to the key switch. But no spark. Must be either a faulty coil or points/condenser issue. Not sure how to check these.

You can also try just unplugging the key switch from the harness. That's what grounds the ignition circuit

I have a bunch of wiring taped together so hard to tell what’s what. Never really got to look at it much. Was to be a project but after collecting all the missing pieces I’m going to sell and move on.

2 black wires in the battery connector? Which connector is that?

The one at the battery, but that's on an original harness. I don't know what you have.

Or connect the back wire from the motor to the coil directly to bypass the harness.
