    Hi all,

I Bought a mostly complete beaten up 1972 K2 U a few weeks ago and starting the restoration process. For years i've been fascinated by these little bikes, so I thought I'd have a go at bringing one back to life with the end result hopefully being a registered bike!

I enjoy all things motorcycle from z50's to trials to enduro.

        Awesome. Welcome.

I saw that bike for sale, congrats.

There is a wealth of knowledge here so most of your questions will be answered.

Most genuine parts are redly available, besides a few tricky ones which can be a challenge to track down. Not impossible though. And if you want to put non genuine on your bike, you wont have a problem. Personally, i wouldn't dream of it. haha.

        All the best.

            Hi Dirk,

So far so good getting the paint colour right on the frame is a bit of a mission! There were 2 holes in the frame from someone previously putting a rear brake pedal or something on there, I ran the TIG over them and it's looking great! Have to wait for this rotten weather to clear up so I can get the clearcoat on lol

Good to hear you are getting it sorted mate.

I hear you guys are in for a flogging from the weather over the weekend - not good painting weather but definitely good bike building weather!

Been a while since i've been on here! Not sure if this is the right place to post resto pics but here is the progress anyway. I couldn't get the paint right myself so I took it to a professional, cant wait to start ripping open all those Honda packets!!

                  Wow that paint looks amazing.

Is it a proper candy paint job?

Another bike that I bought had a hint of the original colour hidden behind the mini trail badges, so I took that to him and he matched it.

Not a candy but has pearl in it.

                            nice.......
You have two parts of brain, 'left' and 'right'. In the left side, there's nothing right. In the right side, there's nothing left.
