    • While I still have the motorvation, going to rebuild this motor in the next few days. Another auto swapped out for manual. New Kitaco manual clutch to still keep the stock look.

getting parts ready but can't for the life of me, find the 12v honda stator I got given a while ago. Remember packing it up in newspaper and putting it away but been looking all of last week and still can't find it!... .

              20160624_220724.JPG

chopped another gear shift lever, this one was a 12v auto lever.

then went to fit the stator and realised i've used 6v cases, stator won't fit... doh!...

                        • time to fix up this bike after i crashed it at the Christmas toy run

the scut 106 was a bit much for it as all the indicators and and indicator mounts started to fall off due to vibration

the engine was rebuilt about 3 years ago with an 88cc top end and i left it since

last week I replaced the custom 12v loom with an original 6v honda loom

made and retro fit a rear indicator bracket that had snapped off both sides

                          20201104_141010.JPG

Looks a bit retro fitted but hopefully won't be too obvious with the number plate and indicators mounted

I have not worked on zeds for about 3 years now and have forgotten everything! I tried to kick the engine over and there were no spark. Tried changing other stators that were around and still none. swapped out the coil and nothing. So after a few days it just ticked that i needed to check the point gap... once the point gap was adjusted (with a light globe) it started first kick. Slowly getting back to finishing of some of the build I started...

bending battery covers, not a very good way to do it but i got lazy didn't make a proper jig. it kinked a little

The bottom mount for the right cover is a little lower to fit into an exiting bolt intead of taping a new thread into the frame same location as the left
I don't have a bead roller so it will stay flat as is unfortunately... lucky bike is not a restored one so kind of acceptable custom?

Making the battery cover and bracket was the easy bit... the hard bit is deciding on what colour to paint it!

The first colour that came to mind was red but red would look terrible as I would lose the red frame hoop look which in my opinion a defining feature of a hardtail.

Only 2 other colours that i think might suit are black or white and i'm leaning towards white... any suggestions?
