  • Greg's SL70 café racer

The last couple of ride days, I have lent my 30th to my mate Greg ( who I usually go dirt bike riding with) to introduce him to Zeds. He came with us on the DGR last week & was inspired by all the café racers & Simon's café Dax. He has dragged his SL70 from deep in the bowls of his shed which hasn't seen the light of day for nearly 20 years.
Now it looks like it's my job to transform it into a little café racer ( on a minimal budget).
feel free to post any pictures for inspiration.

Damn! I would love to build a xl75 cafe but in reality probably won't so I'm keen to see how this build goes!

rippa, I think it was 'dogboy' or something like that, did a nice xl-xr and looked great.

you could just change the seat, bars, fenders and leave most of it stock.
You have two parts of brain, 'left' and 'right'. In the left side, there's nothing right. In the right side, there's nothing left.

I remember that bike. It was painted like a K0 XR75. I so wanted to buy that when it came up for sale but couldn't afford it at the time.

Dogboy thread. I own the Red/white Ape tank now.

Saving it for the XL100 I have in the "one of these days" project pile.

Do you know what happened to the bike?

I have an XL70 that I will be starting on in a few months. I plan on lacing a front rim onto the rear hub so I have 16" rims front and rear, tossing the rear fender or maybe just bob it way down, and use another xl70 tank to create the cafe seat 'cowl'. then use Honda ST50G tail light and signals.
